POSTERS ARE NOT A CAMPAIGN STRATEGY

Vota · 30 September 2026 · 1 min read

Posters can create visibility.

Branded vehicles can create attention.

Billboards can make your name familiar.

But visibility alone does not build a strong campaign.

Before spending heavily on campaign materials, ask:

Have we organised our field team?

Have we trained our coordinators?

Are we listening to citizens?

Do we have a clear message?

Are we following up on issues raised?

Can our volunteers explain what we stand for?

Do we know where our resources are actually needed?

A candidate can cover an entire town with posters and still have a weak campaign organisation.

Campaign resources are limited.

Use them carefully.

Invest in:

People.
Organisation.
Communication.
Research.
Fieldwork.
Follow-up.
Accountability.

A poster can make someone recognise your face.

A meaningful conversation can make them understand your leadership.

Visibility matters. But organisation and trust matter too.

Do not spend everything trying to look like you are winning.

Build the structure needed to compete seriously.
