NEVER RUN A CAMPAIGN BLIND
Vota · 30 September 2026 · 1 min read
A serious campaign should know what is happening on the ground.
Not through rumours.
Not through assumptions.
Through information.
Your team should be recording:
Which areas have been visited.
What issues citizens are raising.
Which meetings have taken place.
Which groups still need engagement.
What commitments were made.
Which concerns require follow-up.
What your field teams are reporting.
Without organised information, a campaign can become very busy without actually becoming effective.
You may hold many meetings and still fail to understand where your campaign is weak.
You may receive hundreds of complaints and forget most of them.
You may promise to follow up and never return.
That damages trust.
A serious campaign should be able to answer:
What are people telling us?
Which issues keep appearing repeatedly?
Where have we not reached?
What have we promised to follow up?
What has changed since our last visit?
Good data does not replace people.
It helps you listen to them better.
Do not run your campaign from memory.
Document.
Review.
Follow up.
Learn.
Then make better decisions.
