A CROWD IS NOT A CAMPAIGN

Vota · 30 September 2026 · 1 min read

A large rally can make a candidate feel powerful.

But a crowd does not automatically mean you have an organised campaign.

Some people came because they support you.

Some came because their friends came.

Some came because something interesting was happening.

And some may still support another candidate on election day.

A serious campaign must go beyond counting people at rallies.

Know your organisation.

Do you have coordinators?

Do you know the communities you have actually reached?

Are volunteers properly organised?

Are issues raised by citizens being recorded and followed up?

Does your team know what it is supposed to do tomorrow morning?

Can information from the ground reach the campaign leadership quickly?

Can you tell the difference between excitement and genuine organisation?

Campaigns are built between rallies.

They are built through listening, organisation, communication, fieldwork, accountability and consistent presence.

A successful event can create momentum.

But without organisation, that momentum can disappear the following morning.

Don’t only build crowds. Build a campaign that can function every day.
